The
two Tsarnaev brothers, who are the suspects of the Boston bombing, grew up in
Makhachkala, Russia. In 2012, Tamerlan Tsarnaev lived there with his parents
and the authorities wanted to know if it was there that he was taught or
inspired to kill. The 26 year old was killed in a shootout in Watertown,
Massachusetts and would be able to answer to give an answer to that question.
His 19 year old brother Dzhokhar is in a Boston hospital where he is being
questioned. FBI agents spent Wednesday in the Dagestani capital talking with
Tamerlan and Dzhokhar's parents, according to an official in U.S. President
Barack Obama's administration. The U.S. investigators were joined by members of
Russia's Federal Security Service, human rights activist Kheda Saratova said. Both
of the parents have publicly stated that both of their sons are innocent. It is
also not known what was said when the parents’ had their talk with the U.S. and
Russian authorities. Dagestan is home to violence and civil unrest. It included
gun and bomb attacks that target security services. Speaking of bomb attacks it
included a suicide bombing at a police checkpoint that killed 12 people and
left dozens wounded and Tsarnaev was rumored to be there. After he returned
from his trip from his home town, he created two videos on YouTube under a
category labeled “Terrorists.” Those two videos from his channel have been
deleted since then.
